Alrighty there's a few explanations that go along with the pictures below. Ok Dokey the trip was three days, two nights long. I had to bring my own sleeping bag, water, warm clothes, food and a small stove to be shared with three other girls. If you have never seen a camping stove before I think it is the niftiest thing ever! one piece goes here the other there, a little round thing goes in the middle with fuel, light it up and vuala! you have FIRE! plus three cooking pans! all in a little 1 pound container! :) ok, from the top we have a little Possum! yup the first night he decided to check out what all the rokus was about and a few unfortunate souls left their packs open ...ooops cuz this little guy got in it took a few sandwich bags and bailed! Then you'll see I'm making a funny face at the "water" bottle... well that was actually "tea" ... the water basin we filled our water bottles with somehow gets Eucalyptus leaves in it ... tinting it a light brown yellowish color.... the taste wasn't all bad really but I know now why koalas are always sleeping! that stuff is makes you drowsy! Ah! bones! well, this camping site is on land donated by local farmers, of course they still let their cattle roam free (ps. the cows here don't look the same either.. they are skinny cows!) so of course we had poo poo land mines to watch out for. Anyways, on the second day we had a navigation exercise where we had to find 14 markers around the camp grounds... normally taking 2-3 hours.. we did it in about 2.5! around the 9th marker we had this little lovely surprise! hopefully it died of natural causes....since this is "sasquash" country as they call it. The following pictures are of the sunset! beautiful hey? no clouds so we didn't have the dramatic purples and oranges you usually see out here but meh.. still nice! The tongue color was caused by that fruit you see.. one of the camp guides found a prickly pear fruit and we all had a little taste! not bad but he said not to eat the seeds they were a quick way to get to the toilet. (unfortunately a few did :/ not me though! ) And those poor guys had to use the "open view toilet" shown as well. The next picture is one of MANY high ropes courses I had to do.. oy still have bruises from that! The next pic will show three blokes .. from left to right that's "chicken", Sam and Steve. Chicken and Sam were our camp guides and Steve is my instructor! They were all great guys just up for some good times! The last picture was my favorite activity.. we climbed the biggest tree!! Finally something I felt really comfortable with! here are the last few pics of Meebun-bia.. my campsite.. bruises.. and my favorite.. Danis face after our FIRST hike.. priceless.. :) Ps. Dad, SOOO glad we bought those hiking boots way back when... I know I never used them before but man... they were lifesavers on this trip! thanks! ~yvonne
ALSO!! LET ME JUST SAY DANI IS THE BEST ACTRESS EVER!!!! there was a game of "Murderer" as we were hiking back down the last day and sure enough Dani was killed first and she made the most dramatic death ever! (I thought she was having an Asthma attack ... I was already looking for the first aid kit before I realized she was JOKING!) ugg.. could have killed her!
